Speaking of work… I’ve been putting my resume out and about for the past few weeks without any luck.  Retail… my dads work… small offices… just about any place that seems like a place I would be able to work… but nothing has come of this.  I figured applying at my dads place of business I would have a good chance (having him, as a VP submit the resume seems like it should make a difference) but its been a week and a half so far without any kind of response.  I need something… anything… so long as I can make more than the sad pay I make now!

Back to my week…. so after all the wonderful drugs and sleep I felt much better and was ready to continue my week on Thurs.  The renewed spirit was quickly crushed when I realized I had to take an exam in one of my classes on Saturday morning (which didn’t go as well as I would have hoped… though it could have been a lot worse).  So that is how I started my Saturday… but wait, it gets better!!  I walk into work Saturday night to see that they have a fellow employee double scheduled on the floor and in the cafe which means one of the areas was screwed for staffing for the night.  Saturdays are one of the more stressful days at work to begin with and the realization that I was going to have to work (even with the other staff member on the floor and not in the cafe) with one person to a section of the store (3 people total doesn’t work well at all when you have to cover the floor, music and reg).  Thankfully we did have management there helping even though it was not their scheduled time to work.   After work some of use went to the bar… good times but this is a rant so that will have to be for another blog.  When I finally got home that night/morning the best part of the week was waiting for me… a summons for jury duty.  Hopefully being a college student I will be able to get out of this but just the thought of having to deal with jury duty for 4 weeks is really not exciting at all…

• I just recently finished work on a clients website at Filament38.com though I am currently looking for someone that knows how to do animated .gif work so that I can re-size the page slightly.
• With all the work I have been doing on the computer recently with the site mentioned above and with a number of my classes in the future being online I have ordered a new LCD monitor in hopes that it will be better on my eyes then my current CRT (it also helps that the new monitor will be a 19in widescreen model so there will be more room to work on things).
• Due to recent management changes at my job it has become even more clear that I need to find a way to get out of there. Resumes have been going out at a steady pace for the last couple of months but the time has come to kinda stop for a bit as the frustration of not having anything hit could become an issue with my sanity.
• Another major wake up call, in regards to finding a new job, has come in the form of several friends moving on. While it has really sucked to see my closest friend move to a new state I have been very proud of her achievements. These achievements have seemed to cause an avalanche with my friends as several others have plans to move or find new jobs very soon. I moved to Ohio over 4 years ago because of the schooling opportunities that are available through special partnerships and after the move I honestly can say I made the right choice because of the people I have met. At the same time, as all my friends will agree with, Ohio just isn’t a place that makes you want to stay. I want to move on… I want to find a state/town that I can truly call home… yet I can’t bring myself to do that because of my schooling.
• Speaking of schooling… By moving to Ohio I put myself over a year behind because my first full year of classes didn’t transfer and so I started from scratch. The partnership that I am currently in will allow me to finish my BA from Kent State which is one of the schools I had started looking at when I first decided to go into business and is the main reason I moved to Ohio. The program for my BA works out to be a 5 year deal which is a little bit of a pain but the fact that most of my classes are at a community college price instead of the university price makes it easier to accept. If all goes well (or close to well) I should have my Bachelors in Business Administration by the end of next year with my Bachelors in Marketing the semester after (doing the duel BA programs pushes back my Business degree because of when classes are offered). It just seems like classes will never end….
• Soon I will be launching a new website for a select group of people to keep in touch with each other as their lives continue to take them on different paths. I must say that planning this site has been much more enjoyable than alot of the other tech type work I have done in awhile.
• I recently agreed to join a Fantasy Football League… best part of this is I have no f’ing clue how a Fantasy Football League works. The fact that most of us have no idea what we are doing is bound to make for some good times (so long as a certain individual doesn’t actually win).
